Filmen utspelar sig i början på 70-talet och handlingen bygger på Norrmalmstorgsdramat där bankrånaren Janne Olsson tog gisslan. Hur gisslan upplevde situationen beskrevs i uttrycket stockholmssyndromet. Det var fascinerande att iaktta hur lång tid en filminspelning kan ta. Här är en scen där en reporter, kanske byggde kring verklighetens Bo ”lägg ut, lägg ut” Holmström, rapporterar medan 70-talsstatister jublar i bakgrunden samtidigt som en polis samtalar med någon form av makthavare.
